MEMORIALS

David William Grieve
January 31st 1951 January 27th 2007
Never count the years in a man's life but the life in a man's years ........
Lord, I've never lived where churches grow
I loved creation better as it stood
That day you finished it so long ago
And looked upon your work and called it good
I know that others find you in the light
That shifted down through tinted window panes
And yet I seem to feel you near tonight
In this dim, quiet starlight on the planes
I thank you Lord, that I'm placed so well
That you've made my freedom so complete
That I'm no slave to whistle, clock or bell
Nor weak eyed prisoner of wall and street
Just let me live my life as I've begun
And give me work that's open to the sky
Make me a partner of the wind and sun
And I won't ask a life that's soft or high ...
James Albert Humphries "Humpy"

Died with dignity, we love you Humpy Keep the rubber side down

He was a proud member of A.I.M., Association for Injured Motorcyclists, Vancouver Island Chapter, being the Comox Valley area representative. Being injured himself he found comfort in helping others. His other passion was drag racing and belonged to the Island Drag Racing Association, racing at Saratoga Speedway, winning Rookie of the year in 1998, racing in his 1967 G.M.C. Chevy short box.

Jim had these two strong loves - motorcycles and working on his cars. He loved his Harley Davidson Knucklehead and had "The Half Fast Repair shop" where he loved to paint and repair motorcycles. His last love was his 1958 Corvette. He was just getting all the parts together to assemble it, in his colors, as his bike, black and gold. As an extended family project we will put it together in his memory.

In Memory of Steve Gleeson
Died November 4th 2000
Steve Gleeson died instantly when his truck rolled and landed in a ditch. He was the kind of person who lived by the old rules ... death before dishonour.

Steve had a great sense of humour, he was someone you could trust with your life and your wife. He was the brother I never had and he loved his old shovel "Looney Tunes"

Keep the rubber side down
Humpy
